Propose a Special Issue

Propose a Special Issue

Bring together research around a focused question in business, management, economics, finance, policy, governance, entrepreneurship, technology, or a related field. Tell us why the collection matters, who will guide it, and how it will reach an independent community of contributors.

A proposal is an application for editorial consideration. It does not confirm a special issue or acceptance of any manuscript. Read the Special Issue Guidelines before applying. Required fields are marked *.

Plan your proposal below.

The collection

Set out a focused theme and its contribution to BJBM’s readership. The journal welcomes research relevant to Bhutan, the Himalayan region, South Asia, comparable contexts, and wider international scholarship.

Choose a clear, focused title that describes the proposed collection.

Optional shorter name for navigation and correspondence.

Explain the main question, aims and types of work the collection would bring together.

Explain the gap, intended readership, and contribution to scholarship, policy or professional practice.

List the themes and research questions that would guide the call for papers.

Separate keywords or phrases with commas.

Types of contributions

Select the article types you propose. All manuscripts remain subject to BJBM’s assessment and review requirements.

Guest editorial team

Include the proposed lead guest editor and co-editors. Provide verifiable affiliations, expertise and professional profiles. Guest editor appointments require editorial approval.

Guest editor 1

Describe the team’s relevant publications, editorial or reviewing experience, and how responsibilities would be shared.

Contributors & timeline

Give a practical, provisional plan. Dates and publication arrangements will be agreed only after editorial assessment.

Explain how you will reach suitable researchers and invite independent contributions.

Optional indicative contributors or planned papers. Share only information you have permission to provide; no contribution is accepted at this stage.

An optional planning estimate, not a quota or commitment to accept papers.

Your proposed closing date for manuscript submissions.

For example, a preferred year or publication period. Review quality takes priority over a proposed date.

Disclosures

Disclose relevant financial, professional, institutional or personal relationships, including likely submissions by guest editors or close collaborators. Write None if there are no relevant conflicts.

Identify financial or organisational support, partnerships or linked events, if any. Support must not influence editorial decisions.

Declarations & submission

Your application will be available to the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor. You can track it under My proposals.
